In 2015, artist Lisa Milroy initiated Hands On Art Workshops with the support of the Vodafone Foundation and UNHCR.

Today, Hands On Art Workshops offers a programme of practical art workshops for primary and secondary school students in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kenya. Hands On Art Workshops are facilitated by Vodafone Foundation and UNHCR’s Instant Network Schools programme and utilises digital video conference technology.

As part of the programme, Lisa travels to Kakuma Refugee Camp annually to deliver Hands On workshops in person, working with UNHCR Education.

This exhibition provides a visual timeline of the Hands On Art Workshops from inception through to the present day and beyond as well as a beautiful display of original paintings and drawings made by the primary and secondary school students in the Kakuma Refugee Camp.
